Cash flow management for small companies

About the eBook

COMMITLY was developed by passionate entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, primarily for small and medium-sized companies. The starting point: our own question, "how is the account balance going to develop?" – what is possible, what is not? Where do we need to save? Can I hire another employee? In the developers' experience, those are the questions every entrepreneur asks. A planned balance sheet, a P&L and the like are of little help with concrete business decisions. What counts is cash flow.

We are financial experts, we have worked as CFOs in large companies, we advise companies independently, and our experience is that at the end of the day we are always faced with the same questions: can we afford additional marketing? Can we take on staff? Where will the company be in 3 months? In short: it all revolves around liquidity and the room for manoeuvre that comes with it.

In other words, cash reserves are a key measure of a small company's vitality, resilience and security.

Digitalisation must not be a question of company size - on the contrary, it is even David's greatest competitive advantage over Goliath. Anyone who, in this situation, cites a lack of resources as an excuse for hesitant transformation is not thinking creatively enough.

Franz Kühmayer

One more thing to close with: cash flow planning and very good accounting are incredibly important.

Christian Kedzierski

Tomasz Tunguz once said that the point of a financial plan is not accuracy, but rather to show the direction the company is taking. In that sense it is never too early for a financial plan.
