Cash flow planning with DATEV
From DATEV to a cash flow plan in three steps

Open items from DATEV in the plan
- Amount, due date, counterparty, document and invoice number per item
- Expected payment date instead of due date — late payers appear realistically in the plan
- A new upload updates instead of duplicating
And an automatic DATEV interface?
For larger companies we're happy to discuss a direct connection case by case. But such connections run through your accounting firm: an external service provider gets its own access there, the firm needs DATEV licences and often help from its IT partner, and some firms refuse third-party access for security reasons. The upload, by contrast, is available right away, with no further setup: it usually takes three to five minutes with weekly updates, costs nothing extra and needs no access to the firm. That's why it is our standard. Even more convenient: via the MCP server your own AI imports the open items for you.

Payments reconcile themselves
- Bank transactions are matched against the open items, including partial and collective payments
- What is unambiguous, COMMITLY assigns; where it is not, it suggests and you approve
- Overdue items are flagged, so you know where to follow up

And back to DATEV: approved supplier invoices
- Capture supplier invoices in COMMITLY Bills, approve and pay them
- Export to DATEV with document image and a COMMITLY review page as proof of approval
- Booking and retention continue in DATEV
DATEV Liquiditätsmonitor or COMMITLY?
DATEV offers a cash flow outlook of its own. Which solution fits depends on what you want to do with the plan.
DATEV Liquiditätsmonitor online
According to DATEV, an add-on module to DATEV Unternehmen online for EUR 5.25 a month: development of your bank accounts, an AI forecast from the bank transactions of past years, open items from your accounting firm's DATEV Kanzlei-Rechnungswesen and simple simulations, for example of withdrawals. An inexpensive way in if your accounting firm uses DATEV Unternehmen online and an outlook over the next few weeks is enough for you.
COMMITLY
A planning system of its own: a plan by your priorities, a rolling forecast from 13 weeks to 360 days, scenarios without overwriting, plan-actual comparison by amount and timing, several entities as a group — plus invoice approval and payment. The right choice if you want to steer with the plan, show it to the bank or trigger payments from it. Prices on the pricing page.
For companies using DATEV — and their accounting firm
Management
You see whether the money will last in eight weeks, not just what happened last month. The BWA stays, the view ahead comes on top.
Finance team
No more typing bank balances and open items into Excel. The plan updates itself from bank and DATEV data.
Tax advisors
Support clients in COMMITLY, with their own logins and roles. For accounting firms there is the Consultant edition.

Frequently asked questions
Partly. With Liquiditätsmonitor online, DATEV offers an outlook over the next few weeks as an add-on to DATEV Unternehmen online: bank balance development, a forecast from the bank transactions of past years and simple simulations. If you want to steer with the plan — by your own priorities, with scenarios, plan-actual comparison and across several entities — you add a planning system of your own. For this, COMMITLY takes over the open items from DATEV and connects them with your bank accounts. Your bookkeeping stays where it is.
